Notice to Patients on COVID-19
Dear Patients,
It is with a heavy heart that we are reaching out to you with this notice. As many of you know, we are now facing the Coronavirus outbreak that has made it impossible to guarantee a safe environment in which to provide care. The safety and health of our patients and staff is always at the forefront of my mind.
Like many other small business owners, I spent this past sleepless nights trying to figure out how to continue business as usual here at Gateway Family Dental in light of the rapid spread of COVID-19 here in Massachusetts. While we have always met or exceeded CDC guidelines for sterilization and infection control, it was clear to me that the unprecedented contagiousness of this virus is something that even the very best infection control practices couldn't control for 100% of the time.
As a result, in accordance with the guidance provided by Governor Baker, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association, we have decided to close down our practice from March 17 through May 17 to patients seeking elective and non-urgent dental treatment. We will continue to make ourselves available to patients who may require emergency dental care.
We did not make this decision lightly. We believe that by taking these extraordinary precautions, we are playing a role in "flattening the curve" to help limit infections and slow down the spread of the virus.
Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff, and the community in mind.
Sincerely,
Serena B. Chuop, DMD
